Just the other day I read this article which talked about a woman who was at her wits end in regards to her husbands snoring. In her letter to the editor she states that her children have come in her room at night because they thought they heard a bear and she even goes as far as to say that she is married to a freight train! Part of me found this rather comical (the bear part anyway) but part of me also felt badly that a man is going to face a possible divorce someday because he snores to loud. For that reason I wanted to put together a small post which will contain three weird yet simple tricks that can help save your marriage if you or your partner is a snorer.

1. Quit Smoking
If whomever is the snorer is also a smoker that will need to be nipped in the bud sooner rather than later as smoking is not only awful for you but it has a way of making breathing harder. When you go to sleep at night your body doesn’t want to have to fight itself for air it wants to shut down so that it can recharge but the reality is that if you’re a smoker your body is going to labor to get its air and thus you’re more likely to snore. This first trick is much easier said than done but I can assure you that if you give it a good shot and overcome the power of cigarettes you’ll not only be healthier but you’ll sleep better to.

2. Drink a Glass of Gatorade and Blow Your Nose Before Bed
I think this one tops the list in regards to “weird” but it is what it is. Many medical professionals have found that if you drink something like a gatorade or powered before going to bed that you’ll coat your thought in such a way to reduce vibration. YOu may have seen this marketed as a stop snoring spray in the past as well. While the sprays work this method is cheaper and in all honesty probably a bit more effective. The second part of this step is pretty simple and that is to clear your nasal passages by blowing your nose before you dose off to bed. This is going to enable better nasal flow which may help you stop snoring.

3. Get a stop snoring device
Ive preached this method time and time again so why stop now when the reality is that this method is tried and true and has been for some time now. Stop snoring devices are some of the best ways to help you stop snoring at night and they’re relatively inexpensive. The most popular is the My Snoring Solution and a close second is the Snoreless Pillow. I recommend that you buy both and see what works best.

Hopefully these tips and tricks will help you sleep better at night and who knows they may even save your marriage!

While snoring is a problem for millions of Americans on a daily basis, pregnant women generally in their third trimester tend to suffer more so than just about any other group. The reasons for this are plentiful and we’ll give you the top ones as well as some of the major ways that you can go about stopping it sooner rather than later. Be advised that while snoring in pregnancy is normal, it still something that you should try to curtail sooner rather than later.

The first major reason for snoring durning your pregnancy is the fact that you’ve got swollen nasal passages. It has been reported that while pregnant your level of estrogen are increased which in turn causes a swelling of your mucous membranes which line your nose and can cause you to make more mucus. This in turn leads to a reduce ability to be able to breathe freely which of course can lead to snoring. Furthermore, when pregnant your blood level increases in your body which can also lead to swollen nasal passages which again can lead to an increase in snoring.

The net biggest reason for this phenomenon is the fact that when you’re pregnant you can to gain a good deal of weight as you’re now supporting another human with your diet. This is normal. However, if you’re a heavier person before you get pregnant you’re going to likely see a decrease in breathing activity while you sleep which is mainly caused by the excess tissue in your throat and neck areas. We’ve gone to great lengths to discuss how obesity can lead to snoring and have even provided information about stop snoring exercises and the like that can and will help you deal with this problem. Of course, when pregnant you’ll want to consult your doctor before going on any kind of diet or exercise regime.

Lastly, if you’re noticing extra loud snoring you could be suffering from what many refer to as obstructive sleep apnea. This means that your airways are being blocked and you’ll be forced to stop breathing for brief periods of time throughout he night. If you find this to be the case you’re going to want to ensure that you take action immediately as this can be a sign of something more serious.

So how do I stop snoring?
If you’re experiencing an increase in your snoring levels while pregnant it is recommended that you purchase some kind of stop snoring device such as the My Snoring Solution sooner rather than later. If the idea of wearing this product does not particularly thrill you then something like the Snoreless Pillow might be more beneficial to you. In addition to these devices we’ve always recommended that you avoid alcohol and big meals before going to bed, as well as the reduction in your smoking (if you’re a smoker). These of courses are the typical courses of action for any snorer but if you’re pregnant it would behoove you to seek medical attention before implementing any or all of these methods.

Snoring in late pregnancy is normal and while you should take action against it, its certainly not something you should freak out over. Rather, take the above advice and/or seek additional advice from your doctor or mid wife.

Much of this website is devoted to talking about how to stop snoring on a nightly basis and while we feel as tho we’ve done a pretty good job of that so far we think its important to cover another basic topic and that is the question of is snoring bad? Now obviously this report will depend on your definition of the word “bad”, but in reality the answer is yes and we’re going to delve into exactly why that is in the following article.

So why is it bad for your health?
Habitual snoring is generally one of the best indications of someone suffering from sleep apnea which is a relatively dangerous medical condition that gets worse and more prevalent as we age and gain weight. One doctor went on to say that sleep apnea is potentially life threatening due to the fact that the lapses in breathing that people experience are very repetitive, and the airway ultimately collapses. The pauses in breathing are known to last up to ten seconds long and sometimes even longer for the worst sufferers. Generally people learn that they have apnea because their sleeping partner hears them choke or stop breathing at night, which is obviously unbelievably worrisome.

How do I know if I have sleep apnea?
While the best way to find out is to visit your doctor in person, most people that experience sleep apnea feel very tired during the day and often require a nap, most often during times of low activity which is commonly referred to in the medical world as excessive daytime sleepiness. Moreover, most suffered when they wake up feel as if they haven’t slept at all.

If gone untreated sleep apnea can lead to heart attack, stroke and/or high blood pressure among other things which include but are not limited to:

Poor memory

Impotency

Fatigue and other forms of daytime sleepiness which inherently lead to more work place accidents and other types of accidents

Nasty mood swings

I think I have sleep apnea, what do I do?
If you think that you are suffering from sleep apnea, you shouldn’t worry yourself to death, rather we recommend that you take matters into your own hands and take care of the small issue before it becomes a bigger one. We’ve written a variety of articles such as some stop snoring exercises you can do as well as other cures for snoring that work which include but are not limited to stop snoring devices and more.

More often than not when someone comes to us and says they want to stop snoring we recommend that they check out the My Snoring Solution which is an award winning product that actually ensures proper jaw and mouth placement throughout the night. This is going to ensure that your airways are always open fully which then ensures that you’re breathing all night long.

At the end of the day not breathing while sleeping can and should be a scary thought for you, but its something that you can deal with if you take the proper steps.

Don’t waste another minute, help yourself today!

We all know that snoring is annoying, and if you’ve read any of my other articles then you know that it can be harmful to your health. What we didn’t previously know is that pregnant women who snore are more likely to have premature babies than those who do not. Remember that snoring can and often will lead to spells throughout the night wherein you are not actually breathing at all. If you do not have any air. Guess what? Your baby doesn’t have any air either.

Where did this all come from?

In this recent article from the NZHearld.co.nz Dr. Alison Fung published her findings of a sleep study of sorts that was able to prove that this was true. In her study he took 41 pregnant women and tracked their sleep patterns. Of those 41, ten of the women had snoring issues including but not limited to obstructive sleep apnea and in those women half of their babies experienced a lower birth rate and/or their growth rate was slowed dramatically.

The reality here is that most pregnant women don’t think that something like this could happen to them, but the truth is that it can and often will. A baby without air, much like any other mammal without air is unable to survive and/or thrive and thats not what an expectant mother wants to hear before she goes into labor.

What can you do to stop it?

The easiest way to stop snoring at night is to utilize what is known as a “stop snoring device”. On this website we feature two of the more prominent devices, the My Snoring Solution and the Snoreless pillow. These are going to ensure that when you’re sleeping your jaw is set in such a way that is to reduce snoring. I don’t know about you but paying $50-$100 for a device like this is probably worth it when you consider the far reaching benefits (a healthy offspring).

So if you are the mother, father, grandparent or any other relative of a baby on the way for that matter be sure to take a close and hard look at all of this and determine for yourself whether or not this is the proper course of action.

As always if you have any questions, comments or concerns be sure to contact us immediately or leave a comment below and we will be sure to get back to you in a very timely manner.

While I have covered this a multitude of times in the past I figure it can’t hurt to rehash such a serious topic from time to time. Today we’re going to discuss the treatment for snoring from a purely natural perspective. You’ll note that in my other posts I have covered the synthetic process which is what I recommend but rather than beat a dead horse I figured I will give you the natural methods on their own page and then let you decide for yourself. These methods have been recommended by doctors and other medical professionals alike to be used if you are trying to stop snoring at night. In any event lets list them out.

1. Weight Loss
One of the biggest causes for snoring in most people is obesity and its something that can only be cured by weight loss. As someone who has struggled with this concept for quite some time I understand that many people will be apprehensive when they read this. The reality is that weight loss will not only help you at night, but it will help the rest of your life as well. To treat this cause we recommend that you seek medical help in regards to how you can lose weight.

2. Sleeping Position
Many medical professionals have suggested that if you sleep on your back you are more prone to snoring. For some the thought of sleeping on their side is to much to bare and thus they never make the change. We’ll leave that part of it up to you, but the reality here is that snoozing on your side is one of the best ways to end your snoring woes for the long term.

3. Dryness
The title here is a bit awkward but we assure you that its for your own good. Many people who snore are exposed to very dry sleeping quarters which dries out the mouth and then causes vibration in the throat area which ultimately leads to snoring. We recommend that you moisten up your sleeping quarters and/or drink some kind of fluid (non alcoholic) before heading off to bed. This process is going to ensure that you reduce vibration at night.

Their are several other treatments for snoring but as I mentioned earlier, I have left those for another post, or you can click on the banner to the right and read about them right from the source. Whichever route you end up taking just be sure to stick with it for the long term if you want to see anything overly noticeable. Rest assured however that if you can stick with it you will find yourself and your sleeping partner much happier than had you decided not to take advantage of the help.

Be sure to check back often for more tips and tricks on how to stop snoring!

While the majority of content that we feature on this website is based upon helping those who are currently snoring, stop snoring, we realize this isn’t the only group of people that need help. For some people, sleeping with a snorer is the worst part of the entire dilemma and for those people we are always looking for ways to ensure that they are able to sleep at night without going certifiably insane. The first product that we have come across in that journey are ear plugs for snoring.

Surely you have seen a pair of ear plugs in the past, perhaps you even own a pair right now. Whatever the case may be it would behoove anyone who has to deal with a snorer to get a pair sooner rather than later. With some of the advances in ear plug technology over the years, many people are finding them more comfortable and discreet than ever before. So for those of you that think the thought of wearing ear plugs is going to make your snoring partner upset with you, think again.

But what are some of the other ways that you can avoid having to listen to the nonsense all night? Well you could of course sleep in another bedroom, but that is not feasible for everyone. You could put a pillow over your partners head, but we don’t recommend that tactic at all. Or you could purchase your partner a stop snoring device for Christmas and make it all go away. These devices were specifically engineered to ensure that when a snorer puts his/her head down on the pillow at night they are not snoring anymore and thats exactly what you are looking for, never mind all of this other stuff.

Some people are probably asking themselves whether or not all of this is really worth it? Lets just say that the short answer is yes, and the long answer is that snoring can be related to or even cause a variety of health problems and even death in some cases. Those two reasons should be enough for anyone who is not looking for a solution to at least start to look.

So while wearing ear plugs, and/or leaving the room at night while your partner is doing his/her business sound like reasonable options, they are not the best ones. Do yourself a favor, get the My Snoring Solution today and prepare to have your life changed for the better starting today!

I have often wondered why in a free world their are so many people who are oppressed in so many ways. No I am not talking about being opressed by a dictator or some other political party. Rather I am talking about being oppressed by your own body, almost a prisioner to your ownself. For some it can be a food addiction, others drugs, although for many it is snoring. Due to the subject matter already present on this site we are going to focus with the latter today and introduce you to the best snoring remedies on the market today.

Generally when someone wants to refer to a way that you can stop snoring they are either going to tell you to go the natural route or the synthetic route. Although we at HowToStopSnoring.us are going to push for the synthetic route, for the sake of completness in our writings we will also introudce you to some of the most used natural methods out there.

For starters it is imperative that you do not eat or drink alcohol or use tobacco within an hour or two of going to bed. Doing so can belabor you while you try to sleep, causing the dreaded snore. Next up we want you to try and lose some weight. This is one of those things that is infinetely easier said than done, but at the end of the day its one of those things that really can help if you are trying to stop snoring.

While those are the major natural methods, we think you’ll find the synthetic ones to be a bit easier on you and your daily routine. For starters we have the stop snoring mask which is going to ensure the proper jaw, and mouth placement throughout the night to ensure that you do not snore regardless of what you are eating, or what you weigh. The other hot product at the moment is the stop snoring pillow which aims to do the same thing as the mask just in a bit of a different fashion, and its really a matter of preference in regards to which one you choose.

While their may be other methods to help you stop snoring at night, we believe that the aforementioed remedies are going to be the ones that are most effective in both the short and long term. Be advised that if you try something that we’ve mentioned and it didn’t work the first time you should not be alarmed, rather you should continue to pursue the cure in hopes of a turning of the tide in the near future. In addition feel free to reach out if you believe that we may be of any help to you in your journey to end all of this snoring nonsense. Although we may not always respond directly, it is assumed that we will get you an answer one way or another.

One of the most commonly sent in questions from people who find this website on the web is what is the cause of snoring in adults and kids alike. While their may be a variety of reasons that people snore, their are some that are more common than others. Therefore this article aims to answer the question posed in the title in as broad a spectrum as possible. If you feel that the following do not apply to you and would like to contact us for some one on one help feel free to go ahead and do so, we try to answer every email that comes our way. If for whatever reason we are unable to answer the question we will do our best to refer you to someone that can help get you situated. But without further adieu lets take a look at some of the main causes of snoring in todays society.

1. Obesity
Obesity is by far and away one of the strongest causes of both snoring and sleep apnea. Being overweight has been shown to reduce the amount of air that is passed through your throat at night which can cause both to act up. Obviously being obese has been linked to a variety of health issues beyond snoring but it is one of the main snoring causes that we have come across in recent years.

The solution here is pretty cut and dry, lose weight. We understand that it is much easier said than done for people to just lose weight, but at the end of the day its the best solution. Granted you can take a look at some of the stop snoring devices (such as the one over there —->) as those have been shown to help tremendously but the choice is yours.

2. Sleeping Posture/Garments
The second big cause of snoring is both the way that you sleep, and what exactly it is that you are sleeping on. Believe it or not some pillows and beds are more conducive to snoring than others. In addition sleeping on your back is much more conducive to snoring than sleeping on your side is.

The solution here is to figure out which one is causing you to snore and try to fix it as best you can. Again we understand that buying a new bed and/or changing the way you sleep may not be feasible for everyone, but its one of the best ways that we have found to help you achieve a great non snoring night.

3. Alcohol/Smoking
Alcohol and cigarettes have been shown to increase snoring especially if you are doing them right before (or within a few hours of) heading off to bed. Both have the ability to cause you to “labor” as you breathe which in turn has an effect on you snoring.

The solution here is blatantly obvious and it involves quitting smoking and greatly reducing or quitting your alcohol intake. As with both of the aforementioned causes of snoring we realize how difficult this can be.

Odds are most of the folks who have just read this article fall into one of the three categories. While a solution for every problem was given, their is nothing wrong with looking into purchasing a stop snoring device such as the My Snoring Solution for instant cessation to your snoring problem. Even if it is nothing more than a means to an end (ie you’ll use it while you are trying to lose weight) it is going to help you stop snoring sooner rather than later which is the name of the game.

In closing I would like to reiterate that if you have any specific questions that relate to snoring that were not covered here please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to get the problem solved for you.

In the past this website has discussed anti snoring pillows at length from a general perspective, but today I want to take the time and really explain how it all works and why you need one. If you have not already read about the fact that snoring can adversely affect you in ways you’ve previously never thought of then be sure to educate yourself. But we’ll assume that you have done so for the sake of this article and get started on the discussion of why a stop snoring pillow is a worthwhile piece to your anti snoring arsenal.

So why do people snore? The simple answer is that their is no simple answer. People snore for a variety of reasons but the big two are obesity and your sleep pattern/position. The common thought then is that the only way to stop snoring is to either lose weight and/or change your sleeping pattern/position. While that can help and is certainly recommended, its most certainly not entirely necessary if you want to end your snoring. Rather you can utilize what is known as a stop snoring device and save yourself hours of heartache and hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the long term. Of the two most popular devices (the chinstrap and the pillow) we are going to touch on what the pillows’ benefits are.

The simple science behind one of these stop snoring pillows is pretty basic. The premise is that if your jaw is placed just right you will not snore at night. Therefore the duty of the pillow is to ensure that your jaw is properly placed so that their is no possible way you can snore. The chinstraps aim to do the same things and work just as good if not better than the pillow, but at the end of the day it comes down to a personal preference.

So you think the idea of the pillow sounds pretty awesome right? Well we do to and want to share with you a place that you can get one of the best pillows on the market at a very fair price. One of our lead sponsors of at Snoreless Pillow has a special offer for our readers and it would most certainly behoove you to click that link and check them out.

So their you have it folks, the short and to the point explanation of what exactly stop snoring pillows are, why you need them, and where you can get the best deal on one. It is certainly my hope that this post was useful/educational for you, and if you found that that was the case I would encourage/appreciate/love for you to both “like” us on facebook as well as leave a comment below.

I know that you have all seen commercials or in store ads for the hot commodity in the stop snoring world that is known as stop snoring spray. While it might be tempting for you to make the purchase in my opinion it is simply not worth it. While it is just an opinion, I do believe that their are better, cheaper and more long term solutions for those of you that need to stop snoring whether for your health or for your relationship. So without wasting another moment lets take a look at exactly what the spray is and what it does along with the better options.

So the basic science behind the spray is that when you snore at night it can sometimes be caused by a dry throat which will induce vibrating, thus inducing you to snore. It is therefore assumed that by spraying, you are going to keep your throat moist enough to ensure that this vibration will not take place. Now let me make something clear, the logic here is flawless and in theory this is a great idea. However when you are paying $40 a bottle for some of the “top” sprays it really doesn’t make sense when you can get the same effect from a bottle of Gatorade. It might sound funny but its the truth of the matter is that drinking some gatorade before bed should do the trick in terms of moistening the walls of your throat.

While it might work, I personally do not consider it a long term solution. Why? Well for starters you would have to drink a bottle of gatorade or at least the majority of one every night. From a financial perspective this is simply not a smart move when you consider that at approximately $3 a bottle times 365 days in a year you would be spending approximately $1,095 on gatorade! And if you think thats expensive do the math and replace that $3 bottle of gatorade with a $40 bottle of “stop snoring spray”. It wont take a Phd to understand that it is not a smart move. So what is the proper alternative?

If you want to stop snoring for the long term, and don’t want to spend an arm and a leg doing it then you need to buy one of the most popular stop snoring devices on the market today, the My Snoring Solution. This product is whats known as a stop snoring chinstrap and has the ability to end your snoring woes immediately. To read more about it I recommend that you visit their page and see what it is that they have to say about it to both educate yourself and figure out if its right for you. Although from a price and “does it work” point of view, it is most definitely the product that you should purchase in my opinion.

So there you have it, hopefully I saved you more money and heartache in the future than you’ve wasted in the past. Feel free to comment below with anything that is on your mind about the world of snoring!
